Lucille Placin illustre des documentaires, des poèmes, des fictions, avec des couleurs intenses et une multitude de détails qui dansent. On trouve dans son dernier album, Capricieuse, la quintessence de son talent. La petite fille de l’histoire, aux allures de conte, traverse sur des doubles-pages des paysages mondes, peuplés d’animaux et de plantes gigantesques.
Le jeu sur les proportions, les expressions du visage et les postures du corps de l’enfant, le foisonnement, les couleurs « de rêve » qui le plus souvent remplissent la page, font basculer le lecteur dans un grand voyage au cœur des sensations et des émotions.
